On July 18, three other TV Rain journalists, editor-in-chief Tikhon Dzyadko, presenter Ekaterina Kotrikadze, and correspondent Valeria Ratnikova - were also charged in a separate criminal case for “fake news” and violating “foreign agent” requirements. Three journalists are being prosecuted under charges of spreading “fake news” about the actions of Russian forces in Ukraine (paragraph “d,” part 2, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code) and violating requirements for “foreign agents” (part 2, Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code).
