On April 14, the Adjara Public Broadcaster journalist Teona Turmanidze received a letter from the general director of the TV channel Giorgi Kokhreidze which says she is suspended from work: «Ms. Teona, in your Facebook account, on April 14, 2020, you published a status aimed at discrediting the broadcaster, damaging the image and business reputation of the broadcaster». Turmanidze also informed that the time of her suspension is not limited until the end of the investigation. She attributes the decision of the TV channel management to her protest position. Turmanidze is one of the journalists who has been actively protesting against the appointment of the new director. Several journalists have been dismissed from the TV channel in recent months, and several programs have been shut down.
