Teo Giligashvili, the chief producer of the Mtavari Arkhi TV channel, requested public information from the Parliament on January 16 on the expenses for the visit of members of the Georgian Dream to Italy. The letter sent to the Parliament of Georgia was soon published on the Facebook page linked to the ruling party, Georgian Dream, which accused Giligashvili of «attempting to discredit the authorities» due to the request for public information. Media Advocacy Coalition believes that «disclosure» of the document received and sent by the public institution «for party interests and the attempt to discredit the journalist in connection with the request of public information creates a dangerous practice».
