The home of the administrator of the satirical Instagram page Qaznews24 and the activist of the Oyan, Qazaqstan movement Temirlan Yensebek, was searched, as a result of which the police confiscated the office equipment. According to Yensebek's wife, before the search, the police officers showed a paper stating that a case had been initiated under Article 274 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (dissemination of deliberately false information, endangering the violation of public order or causing substantial harm to the rights and lawful interests of citizens or organizations or to the legally protected interests of society or the state).
