The police filed a report on the dissemination of fake news to the Radio Liberty journalist Tatiana Voltskaya after she posted an article entitled “People are being forcibly cut off”, where a doctor from Saint Petersburg talks of insufficient ventilators in the city’s hospitals. He claims that patients deemed “hopeless” were switched off from ventilators so that the equipment could be used on other patients. The journalist had been the subject of the preliminary stage of a criminal case. On April 21, 2021, the Gatchinskiy Gorodskoy Court of the Leningrad Oblast dismissed the case on spreading fake news (part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Administrative Code) against the journalist Tatiana Voltskaya due to an article about the lack of ventilators.
