The state prosecution requested 7 years of prison for the director of Next TV in the case of inciting ethnic hatred. As the prosecutor stated, «the guilt of the accused is fully proven by the materials of the criminal case, the conclusion of expert examinations, and expert testimony». Moreover, at the session, the court extended the detention period of Duyshenbiyev until November 5, 2022. The journalist states that the case against him is a political order. «[During the debates] the prosecutor could not show a single proof [of my guilt] [...] This is pressure on freedom of speech and persecution», — he believes. Duyshenbiyev was detained on March 3, 2022. According to the investigation, the channel Next TV through its social networks disseminated «false information about the alleged agreement on the provision of military assistance by Kyrgyzstan to Russia during a special operation on the territory of Ukraine». The court declared the materials of Next TV extremist.
