In response to the EU Council’s May 17 decision to ban «any broadcasting activity» of three Russian media outlets (RIA Novosti, Izvestia, and Rossiyskaya Gazeta), which came into force on June 25, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs imposed counter-restrictions on access from the territory of the Russian Federation to the broadcasting resources of a number of media outlets of EU member states and pan-European media operators.
