In the morning of March 18, searches were conducted in Pskov in connection with a libel case (Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the regional governor Mikhail Vedernikov. The criminal case has been initiated because of a post in an anonymous Telegram channel. The security forces stormed Prokopyeva's cottage house, breaking the door and the veranda window. They knocked the journalist's phone out of her hands, threw her on the floor, and handcuffed her. The police took Prokopyeva's phone, e-book and mobile modem. A search was also conducted in the journalist's Pskov-located flat – the police seized her husband's computer.
