The regional correspondent of the newspaper Vremya Stas Kiselyov and the owner of the newspaper, Vremya Publishing House LLP, appeared as defendants in the trial of the civil suit filed by N. Omarbekova for declaration of invalid information. Omarbekova claims that the defamatory information was disseminated by the defendants in the articles «Marriage by calculation?» and «Miracles and their exposure» in Vremya, dated 14.8.2018 and 30.1.2020, and demands to oblige the defendants to publish a refutation and to recover KZT 500,000 from them as compensation for moral damage. The court dismissed the claim in full on the grounds that the information disseminated in the disputed text fragments corresponds to reality. The court judgement has come into legal force.
