Timashevsky District Court of Krasnodar Krai sentenced bloggers Stanislav Andreyev and Alexey Shamardin to two and a half years in prison each. They were found guilty of theft committed by a group of people by prior conspiracy, and Andreyev — also of insulting a government official. Andreyev was additionally fined RUB 40,000. According to the investigation, the bloggers stole road signs that were placed in the parking lots in front of the Timashevsk City Hall and the local shopping center, and Andreyev also allegedly insulted a bailiff in front of the entrance to the Krasnodar Krai Court in February 2019. The bloggers did remove the road signs but first received a notice from the local administration that they were «not listed by disposition» at that location, after which they removed them in the presence of officials and traffic police officers. The investigation considered it «secret theft». Andreyev and Shamardin do not plead guilty and intend to appeal the verdict.
