Sports.kz sports information agency acted as a defendant in a lawsuit for the protection of honour, dignity, and business reputation and the compensation of moral damage of KZT 2,000,000 (more than USD 4,600) of the executive director of the Astana football club David Loria. The plaintiff's claims are related to several publications on the news agency's website, which, according to Loria, are motivated and aimed to form his negative image «as an immoral, asocial person, a failed manager». The lawsuit demanded that the editorial office publicly apologize, remove the disputed articles from the website and compensate for the moral damage. The court upheld the claim for retraction and removal of the disputed articles. The compensation for moral damage amounted to KZT 400,000 (about USD 940). The decision is being appealed in a higher court.
