The Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg has partially satisfied the lawsuit filed by former teacher of the Herzen State Pedagogical University Alexander Kobrinsky against the journalist of Holod Sofya Volyanova and the media outlet Narodnye Novosti. The court declared several phrases from the publication of Holod about Kobrinsky’s sexual relations with his female students defamatory and unreliable. Volyanova was fined RUB 300,000 as compensation for moral damage (the plaintiff demanded RUB 1 million), she was also obliged to publish a refutation on Facebook. Narodnye Novosti must remove the article «One again Kobrinsky gives unambiguous signs of attention with sexual connotations to girls on the Internet» and pay the plaintiff RUB 30,000 (the plaintiff demanded RUB 300,000).
