On 5th September 2017 the Bilasuvar regional court sentenced Ziya Asadly, regional correspondent of the independent newspaper Azadliq, to three years imprisonent for criminal charges of hooliganism with the use of a weapon or an object which could be used as a weapon, and ordered his immediate arrest.
