The Uralsk City Court considered the complaint of the private prosecution filed by Arystanbek Togzhanov to prosecute the editor of the newspaper "Region EurAsia" Zhanar Davletova for libel (article 130, part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan). On November 4th, the court found Davletova not guilty of defamation and acquitted her of a criminal offence. The court abandoned the plaintiff's civil suit.
