On December 8, 2019, in Chelyabinsk, the editor of the newspaper and the website "Obshchestveniy Zashchitnik" (Public Defender) Yulia Zyabrina was wounded in the head near her house. Earlier, her newspaper was threatened by people promising to “sort things out”. Police refused to open a criminal case on the journalist’s attempted murder. Sources in the Interior Ministry in Chelyabinsk Oblast later asserted that the story was made up.
