The head of the regional administration in Karelia’s Kondopozhsky District, Sadovnikov, appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ investigative department for combating economic crimes in Karelia, saying in a statement that the editor of the newspaper "Novaya Kondopoga" Yulia Shevchuk improperly issues monthly and quarterly bonuses and other payments to editorial staff. On the basis of this accusation, a criminal case on embezzlement was opened, though soon after closed.
