On September 7, Orlov left for work in his KIA Rio car and went missing. On September 8, police found his car near a plantation. The doors were open, the keys were in the ignition, and his belongings and documents hadn’t moved. On September 9, the missing man’s body was found in a river in Yelabuzhsky District. The journalist died of asphyxiation as he drowned.
