On July 4, 2017, it was revealed that blogger Vyacheslav Maltsev had left Russia. Denis Romanov, a spokesman for the “Russian March” movement, said that a criminal case had been opened against Maltsev, and the blogger left to avoid arrest. In August 2017, Maltsev was charged in absentia under Article 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities).
