Takhmina and Khakimova and Afsona Akobirshoeva, journalists for Radio Ozodi, were arrested after they after they became casual witnesses of a special operation to detain people involved in drug trafficking. The women were taken to the local Department of Internal Affairs, where they were questioned and all the photos they had taken were deleted. The girls were released only after uproar from the journalistic community.
