The Specialised Inter-District Economic Court of Almaty ruled in the case of Art Asia against the editorial board of Informburo.kz and journalist Serikzhan Mauletbai. Judge Dinmukhamed Adaibayev rejected the complaint. The plaintiffs made the claims in relation to the article "How travel agencies exploit gullible tourists without transgressing the law", published in 2016. A spokeswoman for the plaintiff insisted in court that the article was about Art Asia and its partner, Luxury-Tours LP. According to the plaintiffs, the content of the article and comments contained inaccurate information and defamed their business reputation, as well as causing material damage.
