Seimur Khazi, a journalist and columnist from the opposition newspaper "Azadliq", was detained by police. The journalist was told that he had used profanity in public, and received an adminstrative sentence of 15 days. The court considering the appeal against the sentence increased it to 30 days. Khazi was released in 2019. The journalist, known for his harsh criticism of the government, was declared a political prisoner by international and local human rights organisations.
