On April 5th, the Almaty District Court partially granted the claim for the protection of honour, dignity and the moral damage of Almaty region resident Gulnar Kabylbekova against the editorial board of the newspaper "Time" and the newspaper's correspondent Sandugash Duisenova. The trial court found the information disseminated in the article "Young Defenders" to be untrue and subject to refutation. Defendants were also obliged to pay 200,000 tenge to compensate for the plaintiff's moral harm. On July 12th, the Almaty City Court upheld the decision of the district court, and the appeals of the plaintiff and the defendants were rejected. On October 15th, the judge of the Supreme Court Civil Cases Panel, G. Zhusupbekova, denied Gulnar Kabylbekova, who demanded to satisfy the claims in full, in the transfer of the court acts for consideration in the court of cassation.
