On 7th April, the Almaty District Court in Astana partially granted a claim for the protection of the honour, dignity and business reputation of the lawyer Khamida Aitkalieva and compensation of 1.5 million tenge in damages from the blogger Samat Iskakov. The court found the controversial information to be untrue and defamatory, and the blogger was told to delete it on social media. The blogger must also post on his personal Facebook, VKontakte, Classmates and Instagram pages a refutation of the defamatory information and apologise to the lawyer Khamida Aitkalieva.
