In Karelia, the editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper Vesti Priladozhya Roman Zakharov, also a representative in the local council, accused fellow representative Yevgeny Provorov of attacking him. While leaving the courtroom, the newspaper claims Provorov turned to Zakharov and said "It’s hard to collect knocked out teeth with broken hands." According to the newspaper, the attack on the journalist took place after the court session; on the street near the city administration, Provorov grabbed him from behind by the collar of his jacket.
