Nigmat Kubenov, former director of the KSU Centre for the Provision of Special Social Services for the Elderly and Disabled of the Pavlodar Region, filed a claim for the protection of his honour, dignity and business reputation in Pavlodar City Court. The lawsuit was filed against the editorial board of the newspaper "Our Life" and journalist Olga Voronko. It demands the court to recognise information published by the newspaper as untrue, publish a rebuttal and recover 500,000 tenge from the defendants in compensation for the moral damage caused. Kubenov also asked the court to collect from the journalist and the editorial office 158788 tenge in representative expenses, expenses for payment of notary services, and state taxes.
