On 28th February, the Kazybek-Bi District Court of Karaganda opened proceedings against "Tengrinews" correspondent Nikolai Kravets on charges of libel (Article 130 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and illegal collection of information about a person's private life (Article 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The trial was initiated by the rector of the Central Kazakhstan Academy, Bakhytbai Zhunusov.
