On August 11, the Tbilisi City Court elected a measure of persecution for Nika (Nikoloz) Gvaramia, the former managing director of Rustavi 2 TV channel - a security deposit of 40 thousand lari (13.6 thousand dollars). The Georgian prosecutor’s office has officially charged Gvaramia with “using managerial, representative or other special powers in an enterprise or other organization in order to extract benefits that entailed significant damage”, which provides for a fine of up to two years, or correctional labor, or home arrest for a term of six months to two years, or imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
