The Georgian Charter of Journalistic Ethics considered the actions taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs against Amaghlobeli and her relatives as pressure on independent media. Eter Turadze, editor-in-chief of Batumelebi, calls the accusations against her nephews ‘absurd’ after they were accused of assaulting a police officer. According to her, the high-ranking police official could be using his influence to send a message to Netgazeti and Batumelebi.
