On 9th February, the court found Dauletbaev guilty of a criminal offence and sentenced him to a one-year restriction of liberty with probation for the duration of his term. According to article 2, part 3, point 1 of the law "On the amnesty in connection with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan", Marat Dauletbaev is exempt from punishment.
