In Makhachkala, Malik Butayev, a RIA Derbent journalist covering an election, was attacked by Magomed Magomedrasulov, an employee of the Leninskiy district administration. Butayev was not only carrying out his professional duty, he was also registered as a member of the electoral commission in an advisory capacity.
