In October 2018, in Cheboksary, a criminal case was opened against blogger Konstantin Ishutov for publishing a photo of a Third Reich leaflet on Facebook. The blogger was detained on October 4, after which his house was searched and computer seized. Ishutov was subsequently banned from leaving the house at night and from using the internet.
