On 30th September, Shikhali was detained by police for one hour. During this time he was beaten and his devices were inspected. The journalist said that after this, police brought him back into the capital city of Baku for one night. Later on, the Lankaran regional department of internal affairs refuted claims that he had been illegally held there for an hour or returned to the capital.
