Azar was detained on the evening of September 2 at the entrance to his house as he went out for a smoke after putting his daughter to bed. The child, who is less than two years old, was left alone in an unlocked apartment for about half an hour until the mother arrived. Azar was charged for repeatedly violating mass protest rules for his involvement in an unsanctioned procession on August 31 (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code on Administrative Offences). At 1 a.m., he was released from the police station.
