On the 9th of July, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov spoke out harshly against Rustavi 2 television presenter Giorgi Gabunia's comments on Vladimir Putin, calling the journalist "filth" and a "bastard". Kadyrov warned that Gabunia should now be hidden "behind seven fences" becuase the world has "millions of young people who deeply respect Vladimir Putin" and "the first person he meets might do what he deserves to be done to him".
