In May police arrested three journalists conducting professional activities near the Old City metro station. People in civilian clothes used force against "Meydan TV" employee Aitaj Akhmedova, who was preparing a report from a protest rally by the "Futbol+" newspaper, independent journalist Fergana Novruzova and Turkan Bashiri of "Toplum TV". They were taken to the police station. The journalists were released after giving official explanations.
