In St. Petersburg, at a rally for free elections, police detained zaks.ru and Novaya Gazeta (St. Petersburg) photojournalist Ekaterina Khabidulina. Despite the journalist wearing a press armband, the police took her by the arms to the police van. Only then did they allegedly realise they were dealing with a journalist, and Khabidulina was released.
