Eduard Shmonin, editor-in-chief of the television channel “OTV-Yugra”, was detained by a district court in Khanty-Mansiysk. The journalist was placed in a temporary detention facility. He was charged with four criminal offences - "Extortion" (Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), "Defamation" (Part 5 Article 128), “Compulsion to complete a deal or to refuse to complete it under the threat of violence" (Part 2 Article 179) and "Illegal production and distribution of pornographic materials" (Part 3 Article 242).
