On May 9th, police detained Daniyar Moldabekov, a correspondent for the online magazine "Power" at Astana Square in Almaty. He showed the police his official ID, but it did not help - the journalist was taken to the Almaly district police department. At the police station the officers did not introduce themselves, promised to give him an opportunity to make a phone call, but did not let him call a lawyer. Daniyar was released an hour later, after the head of the press service of the police department Saltanat Azirbek arrived at the police department.
