The journalist Azer Kazimzade said that a criminal case had been opened against him for tax evasion. Kazimzade wrote about the accusations on his Facebook page. In his message, the journalist said that police in the Lerik region sent him a written order that he was to report to the local police station within 48 hours. "They say that I failed to pay almost $20,000 in 2017. Friends, you should know that I only worked four months in 2017 and I only received a total 1700 manat (about $999) in that time. In addition, I have no income and any investigations or prosecutions against me are directly related to my journalistic activities,” Kazimzade wrote.
