Miri Gasanov, chairman of the Aksakal Council of the Narimanov District Organization of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, filed a special charge against the editor-in-chief of the xural.com website, Avaz Zeinally. The special prosecutor was dissatisfied with an article on the website which was based on a citizen's complaint. He demanded that Zeinally be brought to justice under Articles 147 (defamation) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code. Work was begun on the complaint, however the special prosecutor withdrew the complaint during the trial.
