On November 7th, blogger Ardak Ashim received a summons from the police department of the Yenbekshikazakh district of Shymkent. She was informed that according to the Information Research Centre at the Mayor's Office of the South Kazakhstan region, a criminal case had been opened against her under article 274, part 2, point 3 on the dissemination of false information. The reason was Ardak's posts published on Facebook, in which she expressed her opinion on the translation of the Kazakh alphabet into Latin.
