On April 22, at night, on Garegin Nzhdeh Square in Yerevan, policemen beat up Anatoly Yeghiazaryan, an editor from "Radio Liberty". According to the radio station, the incident took place when Yeghiazaryan, who was returning home from work, tried to film nearly 60 policemen trying to disperse peaceful demonstrators with force. Noticing that their actions are being filmed, six or seven policemen attacked Yeghiazaryan and beat him up, despite him showing them his accreditation and informing them that he was a journalist. The special investigative service filed a criminal case in relation to this incident under Articles 164.3, 308.1 and 309.2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Anatoly Yeghiazaryan was recognised as a victim, questioned, and sent for forensic examination.
