Opposition leader Aman Sagidullaev claims that the Uzbek security services are persecuting members of his family living in Karakalpakstan. "All my relatives – and I have ten brothers and sisters – were under surveillance by the National Security Service," Sagdullaev told a C-1 correspondent. "On June 9th of this year, MSS employees came to Karakalpakstan from Tashkent with a list of my relatives. They interrogated family members, conducted searches, and threatened to fire everyone in order to deprive them of their earnings and livelihood."
