In autumn of last year, Alexandra Sergazinova, a journalist with the TobolInfo news agency, noticed while inspecting public state purchases that some vegetables had been purchased at an unreasonably high price. She published the material "Why are the suppliers of goods and raw materials to Yenbek-Kostanai LLP relatives of the head of the company?" The director of the Yenbek-Kostanai branch, Kuttuzhan Ismagulov, and the mother of his child, Anara Mukasheva, filed a lawsuit, accusing the journalist and media of degrading their honour, dignity and business reputation and demanding 500,000 tenge compensation for moral harm. During the hearing, the plaintiffs received a request to abandon the claim without consideration.
