Aleksandr Lapshin, a blogger declared by the Azerbaijani authorities to be in an international search, was detained on 15 December 2016 in a Minsk hotel and placed in a remand centre. In January 2017, The Belarusian General prosecutor’s office ruled to extradite Lapshin to Azerbaijan, where he is accused of separatism.
