A criminal case has been opened against human rights activist Alexander Kharlamov on suspicion of initiating religious discord (Article 174 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan). As part of the new criminal case, Alexander Kharlamov was subjected to a psychiatric examination. According to the human rights activist, he was taken from Ridder to Ust-Kamenogorsk in a police car to the regional psychoneurological dispensary; he was interviewed for several hours before being brought back to Ridder.
