After the publication of an article, hockey club president Nikolai Proskurin and counsellor Vadim Kulikov filed a complaint of private prosecution with Ust-Kamenogorsk court No. 2 with a demand to prosecute A. Gubanov and V. Vasilchenko for defamation (Article 130 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and insult (Article 131 of the Criminal Code). On April 26th, Judge D. Kozhakhmetov acquitted A. Gubanov and V. Vasilchenko on both articles due to the absence of criminal offences in their actions.
