On 31, October 2017, Kokshetau Asia published an article and video "The body of a 21-year-old boy was exhumed in Kokshetau, his parents are trying to prove that he was killed". The author of the materials is editor Adil Tulepbergenov. The video was filmed during the investigation in the criminal case conducted by Marat Omarov, a criminal police investigator in Kokshetau. The court partially satisfied Marat Omarov's claim, having called on Adil Tulepbergenov to publish a refutation of defamatory information and to remove the controversial article and video from the website. The judge refused to grant the investigator's claims for compensation of moral harm as a result of Omarov's unpaid state taxes.
