On 30th December the Andijan administrative court decided to detain blogger Abdufatto Nuritdinov (also known by the online pseudonym Otabek Nuritdinov) for 15 days. According to the regional prosecutor's office, the Andijan resident will be punished for "slander, insult and disorderly conduct". Under two articles of the Administrative code, he was also fined more than 1,400 dollars (equivalent to 1,238,000 Uzbek soums). The reason for the prosecution of the blogger was more than 20 publications about corruption in the region from August to October last year.
