On August 13th, the Specialised Inter-District Administrative Court of Almaty found the international news agency KazTAG LLP guilty of an offence under Articles 451-6, Part 2 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (posting false information in the media) and imposed a penalty on the company in the form of an administrative fine amounting to 75,750 tenge in state revenue. Administrative proceedings were initiated at the order of Deputy Prosecutor of Almaty, S. Yermekbaev.
